If you are looking for a story where it's the normal sequence of happy tragic happy, then look somewhere else. If you are expecting this story to come to a happy ending where the hero gets the girl, and the villain melts by water, then you should probably skip this story. Because in this story, the hero doesn't get the girl, the villain doesn't die, and the darkness doesn't go away. It eats away at the characters, haunting them, cursing them, killing them from the inside out, until they eventually lose all trace of sanity. Until they forget they're human.
So let me give you some advice, friend. This story won't be a happy one. Not sweet like a cupcake, not warm like your grandma's freshly baked cookies. Not even like that green apple piece of gum you stuck under your teacher's desk today at school. No, this story isn't even bitter in the slightest. It's cold, dark, damp, and lonely like a cellar at the bottom of the Earth, where the bugs and the mold are the only thing to keep you company.
